Harness Driving and Small Equine

Harness Driving is a discipline where the horse pulls a cart. The handler, or Driver, sits in the cart and controls the horse by long reins, a driving whip, and voice cues. Competitions include rail work, maneuvering around obstacles, and performing patterns. Driving shows also have some in-hand classes such as Showmanship, hunter-in-hand (jumping), in-hand trail, and ground-driving where the Driver maneuvers the horse in harness but not hooked to the cart.
