Harness Driving and Small Equine
Harness Driving is a discipline where the horse pulls a cart. The handler, or Driver, sits in the cart and controls the horse by long reins, a driving whip, and voice cues. Competitions include rail work, maneuvering around obstacles, and performing patterns. Driving shows also have some in-hand classes such as Showmanship, hunter-in-hand (jumping), in-hand trail, and ground-driving where the Driver maneuvers the horse in harness but not hooked to the cart.
When does it meet?
Driving and small equine shows are the same weekend and location of the performance shows.
How is it judged?
Some classes are judged on the Danish system. Medals are offered for Reinsmanship, Driving Trail and Showmanship. All classes award placings from 1st – 8th.
